Do Not Fear

“Fear eats away our capability. It sows the seeds of misunderstanding, jealousy, crime, distress and failure in life. It is through the light of awareness that the darkness of uncertainty and so of the fear, can be removed. Awareness gives courage and eagerness to perform ‘karma’ which is the purpose of life.
Through spiritualism, people can be made aware of their “inner-self”and they can derive energy from the Cosmic World.

The book describes simple techniques which can be practiced by every person – young and old, male and female, intellectuals and non-intellectuals – to attain spiritualism, by the help of which we can guide our thoughts and so our activities to live a life of peace, happiness, growth and prosperity.”

Dedication

This book is affectionately dedicated to my students, who had constantly inspired me to put the advices given to them in the form of a book.

Acknowledgement

I am grateful to my family, particularly to my daughter Mrs. Shilpi Dutta and my daughter-in-law Mrs. Manoshi Bose for encouraging me to write the book and reassuring me whenever I felt helpless.
I feel deep gratitude towards my long time trusted friend, Mr. Tara Chand Chhabra, who had been helping me in all my projects. He was a great source of inspiration and perseverance, required for completing this project.

Preface

I was inspired by my students to write this book.
Most of my students were not certain about their success in life. They were confused about their career and about the goals of their lives. Many of them were not aware of their strengths and weaknesses. They were not apprised of the capabilities and resources already available with them.
Quite often, I tried to put up my humble effort to help them to build up self-confidence, but the constraint of time to complete their professional programmes, forced me to restrict myself much to my disappointment.
I have, therefore, endeavoured to put up my efforts on paper, so that my students, who might have settled by now in their jobs and are nurturing their families, may get help even now to make their lives purposeful, rewarding and happy.
The content of the book is based upon my experience, analysis of situations, suggestions and advice given by my friends, which I have laced with assumptions and beliefs – followed by our tradi- tions, to link the past with the present and to foresee the future.
Hence, the critics will find an open area for dissentment!
I shall be grateful to such critics for their comments, sugges- tions and if necessary, for corrections, so that the book can be made more useful to our young generation – the driving force of the future.

FOREWORD

Since ages our ‘Rishi & Munees’ had been practicing spiritualism for understanding the nature, the universe and the purpose of life. Common people could not practice spiritualism due to its lack of understanding and the involvement in the materialistic pursuits. The result is that, day by day we are sinking in the confusion disaster and unhappiness.
The author of this book who had been a Guest faculty in Agribusiness department of the university for the last ten years, has shown a practical way to practice spiritualisrn, which will prove highly beneficial to the young people to shed away the fear of the uncertainty of future and show them the path of success and happiness in life.

How to Read the Book

To Young readers, I I suggest that they should not read this book as a text-book or as a treatise, but to read it as an account, in which the author has jotted down his impressions and analysis of the fast-changing environment. in order to help the readers to find out a way to live a successful and peaceful life.. The book may thus guide the readers to draw their own conclusions, to decide their own goals and to find out suitable methods to fulfill the chosen goals. Resources for their efforts will come automatically, provided they have confidence on themselves. They should recollect the famous quotation: “Where there is a will, there is a way.”
The purpose of this book is to drive away the fear of Uncer- tainty from the the minds of readers. This can be done only through knowledge. Knowledge is acquired through analysis of various informations and stimulants received from the environ- ment.It should be supported by the beliefs and traditions held by us. By such analysis, we can decipher the uncertainity and can find ways to overcome it. That is the way to drive away the cancer of fear.
Analysis is important. Therefore after reading each chapter, the reader should analyse the content of the chapter and draw his/ her own conclusions. While analyzing, the reader should recol- lect some incidents or informations to reinforce the analysis. He/ she should foresee how the conclusions, arrived at, influence the future. In the beginning, the reader will find the picture of the future as hazy, but on further analysis, the picture will get more And more clear, as if, it is turning into the present. The uncertainty will vanish and so will be the fear about the future.

Prayer

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high; Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been
broken into fragments by
narrow domestic walls;
Where the words come out from the depth of Truth; Where tireless striving stretches
its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason
has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habits;
Where the mind is led forward
by Thee into ever widening thoughts and actions Into that heaven of Freedom,
My Father!
Let my country awake.
Rabindranath Tagore
